Lisa Silfwerbrand
Lisa is the author behind the popular Recreated Designs blog about upcycling inexpensive (and most often free!) vintage, flea market, and dump centre finds. She and the Recreated Designs blog have been featured around the web, on TV, and in print, daily inspiring others to tap into their creativity while saving things from the global landfill.
She has also taught audiences worldwide through a series of regular shows geared towards upcycling and reuse for Hometalk TV as well as written a book; Recreated Designs: Cottage Projects With a Vintage Flair.
As the recipient of a 2019 creativity award, Lisa teaches paint and art classes here at Recreated Designs (and virtually) and loves helping others no matter where they are on their creative journey. With an extensive knowledge of paints, finishes, and DIY techniques, Lisa can't wait to help you gain the skills you need and want.
If you are ready to move beyond creating pieces for yourself, Lisa can help with that too. Having recreated hundreds and hundreds of furniture and home decor pieces, her knowledge an experience of selling handmade items has helped many start businesses themselves.
When not blogging, teaching, or hanging out at the cottage, Lisa loves to travel… hunting high and low for amazing vintage pieces. She has filled her home with these rustic finds creating a space that reminds her of simpler times and her love of nature.
Khristine Shopa
Khristine has been creating for as long as she can remember, from home decor to gardening, to selling signs and upcycled furniture through her Etsy shop Yankee Primitives. She is a creator of all styles of furniture painting - shabby chic, chippy/distressed, modern, and country and is always eager to learn new techniques. Her current favourite paint is Fusion Mineral Paint but she has used many different brands including Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Milk Paint. Iron Orchid Design transfers, stamps, and moulds are a huge part of Khristine's creative arsenal as well.
When not transforming pieces, Khristine loves to travel with her husband, spend time with her 4 children, practice yoga, garden, and cook.
