A rare purple/plum transferware soup bowl made by A.J. Wilkinson in the early 1900s. This English transferware is marked "Pastoral Davenport 1840" after the original design. The bowl features a quintessential English scene including a cottage, horse and rider, and animals in the countryside. The bowl edge includes farm equipment, a beehive, and flowers. They were likely display pieces as there is very little wear.
No chips or cracks and minimal crazing.
Measures 9" across and 1.5" high.
Sold individually.
